The Barrelroom at Ballandean resurrects Pranzo Italiano family feast

The Barrelroom at Ballandean is set to launch an Italian family feast this Sunday 27 July at noon.  Dynamic culinary duo Matt and Bobbi Wells have been booked solid since returning to Granite Belt after an island hiatus on North Stradbroke Island.

Just how Nonna would make it

Pranzo Italiano is back! We can’t promise any naked Italians, but we can promise five courses of sensational Italian food that will make your heart sing. And music!

We’ve had up to 150 guests celebrate Italian-style at past events. When we last ran the restaurant, it become an institution that booked out months in advance.

We want our guests to experience an Italian Sunday lunch just how Nonna would make it. Think Italian family-style platters, long communal tables, lots of laughs and lashings of love.

Owner-chef Matt Wells

Mouthwatering platters

The Barrelroom will be serving up traditional feast far such as chicken raviolini soup, antipasto, cured meats, arancini balls, Tuscan-style pork collar pork crisp, gorgonzola polenta and seasonal sides to delight.

An institution

Bobbi and I undertook our apprenticeships at The Naked Italian, and after six years of working closely with the Puglisi family, we have been blessed with being part of two Italian family tables. We want to share this experience and camaraderie with the Granite Belt and our visitors again.

Owner-chef Matt Wells

Over the six years that the Wells operated The Barrelroom, the husband-wife team built a loyal following for their modern Australian menu with Italian influences, a natural fit for the Puglisi family winery and its down-to-earth hospitality.

Pranzo Italiano tickets are just $60 per person and can be booked www.trybooking.com/BDPCE. Return bus transfers are available to local accommodation houses.
